Privacy Notice

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Your privacy matters to us. In short: the retirement figures you enter stay in your own browser, and we collect personal data only where we need it — mainly to run partner accounts and process payments. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law. For cookies and browser storage specifically, see our Cookie Notice.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Codingbadger Creative Limited (company number 16896863, registered in England and Wales) is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at barry@codingbadger-creative.com.

2. Your plan stays in your browser

The planner runs entirely on your device. The details you enter — ages, pensions, savings and spending — are stored in your browser’s local storage so your plan is there when you return. They are not sent to us and are not used for tracking or advertising. They only leave your browser if you deliberately create a shareable snapshot (see below).

3. What we collect and why

  • Shared plan snapshots. If you choose to share a plan, the figures in that snapshot are stored on our servers so the link works. Snapshots are anonymous — they are not linked to your identity.
  • Partner accounts. If you sign up as a business partner, we process your name, email and login details (via our authentication provider) and the branding and domain settings you configure, so we can provide the dashboard and the embeddable service.
  • Billing. When you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing details as merchant of record. We receive only limited information — such as your subscription status, plan, and a customer/subscription reference — not your full card details.
  • Optional analytics. With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used. It does not load unless you agree. See the Cookie Notice.
  • Support and technical logs. If you contact us, we keep your message. Our hosting provider may process standard technical data (such as IP address) to deliver and secure the site.

4. Legal bases

We rely on: contract — to provide partner accounts, the embeddable service and billing; consent — for optional analytics cookies, which you can withdraw at any time; and legitimate interests — to secure, maintain and improve the service and to respond to enquiries, balanced against your rights.

5. Service providers we use

We share personal data only with providers that help us run the service, under appropriate safeguards:

  • Clerk — partner account authentication.
  • Paddle — payment processing and subscription management (merchant of record).
  • Microsoft Clarity — optional, consent-based product analytics.
  • Microsoft Azure — hosting of the website, API and database.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep it

We keep partner account and billing records for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations. Shared plan snapshots are retained while the share link is intended to work. Analytics data is retained per the provider’s standard periods.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email barry@codingbadger-creative.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Children

The service is intended for adults planning their retirement and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above. Please check back periodically.
